Question Number: 23888Law 15 - Throw In 9/8/2010RE: club Under 13 Debbie of albuquerque, nm usa asks...My question is actually an etiquette question. Why do players put the ball down instead of tossing it to their teammates on a throw in? My best guess is that it might constitute a 'bad' throw-in and therefore the other team would get the ball. It is accepted that a player can toss the ball to a team mate to take a throw in and that has been the practise for years. It is never seen as an incorrectly taken throw in and in many cases speeds up the game.
