Question Number: 23856Other 8/30/2010RE: rec Under 12 Michael Palubin of Plainfield, IL USA asks...What is chucking? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Michael It is not a soccer term. In the UK 'chucking' is a term to describe an illegal delivery in cricket where the ball is thrown rather than bowled with a straight arm. It is also a term to describe stopping something. So if a player says he is 'chucking the game' means he has decided to stop playing. It may have a different meaning in the US but it is not a soccer term.

E.g., if a player is sent off, he has been 'chucked out' of the game. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
