Question Number: 23843Law 10 - Method of Scoring 8/28/2010RE: rec Under 8 rex of colleyville, tx usa asks...If the goalkeeper handles the ball while standing over (inside) the goal, but the ball is only partially over the goal line, does it count as a goal?
question arises from this scenario: corner kick to goalie, who catches ball while standing past (inside) goal line. One foot deep in goal, one foot half in half out. Ball almost all in. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Rex
The position of the goalkeeper is irrelevant just the position of the ball. All of the ball must be over the goal line for a goal to be scored.
So 'ball almost all in' is not a goal
