Question Number: 23797League Specific 8/19/2010RE: recreation Adult Pina of maple, ontario canada asks...Just wondering if a game has been forfeit for not having enough players on the field (7) Does the other team have to pay for this forfeit and if so who gets the money, the league or does it go to the other team. It is always a matter for the competition organisers to determine the outcome of an abandoned game.
Usually the competition organisers impose fines on teams for failure to field, forfeit, misconduct causing abandonment etc and fines always go to the League.
Rarely if ever does money be paid to teams.
Referees are paid before the game and in the case of a game that does not go ahead the referee usually receives a reduced fee which covers travel etc.
