Question Number: 23774Law 11 - Offside 8/14/2010RE: Rcc, competive Adult john baltutis of Belleville, ontario canada asks...This question is a follow up to question 103332 attacker A, is in a off side position, the ball is kicked from his own team, and is deflected from the defending team to attacker A, who is still in a off side position, Is he called off side?? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Referee Baltutis This is covered under the Offside term 'Gaining an advantage by being in an offside position'' It means playing a ball that rebounds to him off a goalpost or the crossbar having been in anoffside position or playing a ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside position. So a rebound, deflection does not reset the offside
