View Referee Dennis Wickham profileAnswer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Someone else has touched the ball - the goalkeeper. So the kicker is free to play it again. If the ball had rebounded off the goal, then no other person had touched it. The kicker is not allowed to play the ball a second time before another player, from either team, touches it.

In that case it has not been touched by another player so it is deemed to be a double touch violation and an IDFK from where he touched the ball. In your question it has been touched by a player so play continues as there is no infraction.
