Question Number: 23721Law 15 - Throw In 7/30/2010RE: pro Adult jibola of lagos, Lagos mushin asks...1)when a goal-kick is taken by a goal-keeper,and the ball ends up in the opposition's net,is it awarded as a goal? 2)when a throw-in is taking and the ball ends in the net without touching any player,is it awarded as a goal? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Jibola 1. A goal can be scored directly from a goal kick but only in the opposition's goal. 2. A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw in. If it goes directly into the goal without touching anyone a goal kick or a corner kick is awarded depending on who threw the ball into the goal.

No. A goal cannot be scored directly from a throw-in. If the ball does not touch another player (of either team), the restart is a goal kick (if thrown by a member of the attacking team) or a corner kick (if thrown by a member of the defending team) .
