View Referee Joe McHugh profileAnswer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham It depends. If an offensive infringement occurs after the referee whistles but before the kick is taken, the referee allows the kick to proceed. If a goal is scored directly, the kick is retaken. If not, an indirect free kick is awarded to the other team at the spot of the encroachment.
