Question Number: 23553Kicks From The Penalty mark 6/25/2010Andy of Tucson, AZ united States asks...during World Cup 2010, what is the official score of a game in the knockout stage when the game is decided by a penalty shootout. thanks Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Andy
The official score is given as the score after extra time with a penalty score shown.
So it would be Team A 1 : Team B 1 A.E.T. ( 5 : 4 PSO). I know looking at the scoreline that the game was drawn 1 : 1 after extra time and that Team A won 5 to 4 on penalties.
