Question Number: 23364Law 4 - Players Equipment 5/24/2010RE: Competitive Under 11 Brett Baker of Virginia Beach, VA US asks...This question is a follow up to question 23352 Just a thanks you...not a question. First, I know you are all busy. Thank you for your time and replies. I particularly enjoyed the slightly different responses, which I think positively emphasizes the personal judgment involved in being a referee. Ultimately, the ref for this game was quite excellent, and perfect with and for the kids. He allowed play to continue as stated and no injury came of it as ref Michelle Maloney alluded to in her response. I personally believe the ref allowed play to continue because he probably felt the kid would pass the ball (he did not) as ref Gary Voshol indicted might be his line of thinking. I thought the same thing and was surprised the kid dribbled for so long under pressure. And finally, I feel that I was not too far off base in my thinking that 10-12 seconds was too long with supporting comments from ref Joe McHugh. Thank you all. -Brett Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Thanks for your support. We enjoy entertaining and educating.
