Question Number: 23278Law 17 - Corner Kick 5/8/2010RE: rec Under 10 kevin barber of charlottesville, va usa asks...if a player takes a corner kick and the ball once kicked never goes in bounds(is always out) what happens next Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Kevin The ball is out of play and the restart is a goal kick. Please remember that the ball started in bounds, as you describe it, in the corner quadrant before the ball was kicked.

So it went out, going completely across the goalline, last touched by a member of the attacking team ---> goal kick. I had one yesterday. We had very high winds - the kind of winds that make for strange scenarios. The wind was blowing mostly from behind me (AR) and the corner kicker, but also slightly from behind the goal line. The ball was kicked out over the line, but then the wind assisted it back in so it hit on the top of the goal. Coach yelled out, 'How could it be out if it hit the goal?' I made a swooping curve motion with my arm.
