Question Number: 22926Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 3/9/2010RE: rec Under 11 Rodger Hopkins of vicksburg, mS united States asks...This question is a follow up to question 99396 Can a goalie handle the ball when headed back to him by his own team mate? Answer provided by Referee Jason Wright Yes - assuming the defender hasn't engaged in a deliberate trick to circumvent the law such as flicking it up onto his own head (never actually seen this happen.....). It's only if it's deliberately kicked to the keeper and he handles it that there's a problem.

He can also chest the ball to the keeper, or use his leg (just not the foot, as in kicked), including the thigh, the shin or the knee. The keeper can always kick a ball sent to him by a teammate if he is in doubt about whether or not he can pick it up with his hands.
