Question Number: 22922Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 3/9/2010RE: REC Adult james of frement, c usa asks...This question is a follow up to question 107824 The ball is in the air and I would like to heading the ball in the air while the opponents are trying to do the same. Can I use one of my own team member's shoulders to pull myself up or step on his knee to jump higher to heading the ball ? Is it legal? Thanks. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi James To use a team mate in this fashion is unsporting which is cautionable and the restart is an indirect free kick from where the incident happened.

Besides, who wants anyone, even a teammate stepping on their knee/thigh with cleats on? Or using their shoulders as a jumping off platform? I would recommend practicing plyometrics so you can run faster and jump higher without unfair assistance.
