RE: division 3,competitive Adult

francisco of victoria, BC Canada asks...

Quarterfinals of a cup game, full 90 of regular time and full 2 x 15 min extra time played. Ref is talking to captains prior to commencing pk's when the lights go out in the stadium. This is how the game ended.

What happens now. do they replay the entire game or just the pk's?

Hi Francisco

This is a matter for the Competition Authority to decide. My personal view is that if teams are brought back together at another time then a game will be played as it involves getting both teams fully togged out plus a pitch plus officials. It is as easy then to play a game. I am not aware of any KFTPM being completed on their own without a game.
I do recall a game in the old European Cup between Celtic and Benfica in 1969 being decided on the toss of a coin. Hard to imagine that now

The league will decide since the match ended tied at the end of regulation time.
