Question Number: 21275Other 5/4/2009RE: Select, Competitive Adult Michael Lindo of Vacaville, California USA asks...I was a coach for 10 years and first met 'The General' while coaching Select and Competitive youth teams. I remember dreading the game when we found out 'The General' was refereeing the game. It wasn't that he wasn't going to be fair, quite the opposite, he wasn't going let us get away with anything. That was also why he was sometimes referred to as 'The General'. I also took up refereeing as sometimes in tournaments, visiting teams needed to also furnish a referee. Needless to say, the instructor was 'The General'. He was tough but fair and went out of his way to help us all become better referees. I too will miss 'The General'. - The distinguished panel of referees is still discussing this question. We will have an answer shortly. Thank you for your patience.
