This question is a follow up to question 17343

No one is together here!! In original question 17343. Fleischer said " where player was at point team mate touched it last". Contarino, Mueller said same thing but Maloney said differently, saying "point offensive player became involved". Two completely different things!

Someone brought this up in follow up question 17380 but Referees MRREF, Contarino said all four refs had agreed in the original answer!!??? and not really true. C'mon guys. What is it?

LOTG says where offensive player was at point team mate touches it and I think this is right answer but why are some of you saying that until a player becomes involved should it be called and restarted there!! Aye yai yai!!

Frank you are smoking funny tobacco I reread the answers the location is the position of the offside player when his team mate played/touched the ball and offside criteia first introduced the positional restriction. The miscommunication may lie in the fact the infringment is not called until the LATER involvement becomes part of the equation. The restart goes back to spot of the positional evaluation.
POSITION if offside criteria determines this, it is the restart location ONLY if the INVOLVEMENT occurs during this phase of play
Come on man you are fishing for something that is not there .

It's where the player in offside position was when the ball was touched or played by his teammate and we all agree on that
