Question Number: 18811Law 6 - Assistant Referee 4/18/2008RE: Competitive & Tournament Under 19 Steve of Vero Beach, FL USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 18798 My son was in this position a year ago. When he graduated from the long arm to the short arm cast, he was released to do games again. He was able to use both hands and keep up with play - so no problem.
Most important though is whether your physician releases you to referee - no need risking the re-breaking of the arm. Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Understand. Currently I have a right hand that is on the mend. It is not casted, just a mess and I DO NOT work as referee or linesman because I can not give what The Game needs, I am not at full potential. For this I gladly stand down. I don't understand why other referees will accept a match when they are impaired by this or that.
Regards,
